Good morning,

So my pastor has been preaching about Tithing, and the word Devourer came up.

Malachi 3:10-11, Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine , and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.

God has promised to rebuke the devourer for our sakes. But there are so many ways in which we have invited the devourer into our lives.

Examples 1. Your salary is barely enough, but because you want the latest iPhone, your monthly bill is £67 a month

Example 2. Buying those clothes that you don’t really need, but because your friends are wearing the latest designer you must also wear them.

Example 3. Going on that holiday and you buy everyone a gift on your credit card, knowing well you can’t afford it.

And so on…

Devourers are things we don’t need but we are paying for.

A friend sent me a video recently, and I think this is a great illustration on how we allow devourers into our lives.

God did say we shouldn’t borrow but society has made it ok for us to do so. We can borrow to live that life we desire. And we just spend the rest of our lives paying off those debts and inviting the devourer into our lives.

Yes you may pay your tithe, but if God is meant to protect you because you pay your tithe but then you are not keeping His other words how can it work.

At this point because he is such a merciful God we can still be protected, but maybe not as protected as we should have been.

Once again only God has the perfect answer. Let the Holy Spirit minister to you when you are not being wise with money. He speaks I tell you!

Change your lifestyle in aid to avoid the devourer to keep coming back into your life.

May the good Lord restore unto us all that which the devourer has taken from us.

Joel 2:25, And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.

Be blessed and may the good Lord continue to rebuke the devourer for our sakes in Jesus name. Amen 😊🙏😇

  1. Great Words of wisdom.
Be wise with you money. One of the ways the enemy can keep you from excelling in your Christian walk is owing. Romans says owe no man after the flesh. Be blessed.
