Striking a Balance.

Good morning,

Thank God for his mercies, what a well needed rest. Practically slept the whole day away. I hope your week started off well so far, if not don’t worry have hope for the rest of the week. A little scripture to encourage you…

Jeremiah 17:7-8, β€œBut blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

You know, nothing beats family time, even if all you did was sleep the whole day. My children also needed the rest. They are always with me from work to church to everywhere else I go.

We did plan to go out to dinner, but slept the day away and just enjoyed an evening of playful moments and half watched movie.

As a busy family, we always try to find fun times to enjoy and bond. From lunches, to dinners, or bowling, to a day or two away.

Most people say they don’t have money, but I’ve come to disagree with that statement. When they want to buy the nicest clothes or shoes, they will buy it. It seems that one can be seen by people but not the unseen special times spent with the family.

It doesn’t cost much to have quality time. Sometimes we literally just go to McDonalds, just because we can all go together makes it nice.

Christmas Day was an example, we went to church early, came home to Christmas breakfast, and then slept the day away before joining another family friend for dinner. Which was what we wanted, a little quiet time with just us.

The children really enjoy having both parents at home, as they rarely do, without one leaving to go to work. It was funny when come evening time they were asking to go to church, as they had gotten used to the last 21 days of fasting and going to pray in the evenings.

Let’s make an effort in creating that most needed family time. Strike a balance between work, church and family life. It’s refreshing and unites the nuclear family.

Some blessings for the rest of the week…

Numbers 6:24-26, β€œThe Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”

Be blessed! πŸ˜˜πŸ™πŸ˜‡
