Get Thee Behind Me…

Good morning,

I believe you all had a great weekend.

Based on a comment I got on the post “The Church Hopper”, I wanted to state this…

Growing spiritually is majorly and imperatively our individual responsibility not our pastors. They are our guides and shepherds just like a parent to a child.

There are types of people who go to very anointed powerful men of Gods church and still remain Lukewarm, because they are not ready for change. Maybe one day the word will bring a change.

So if they’ve been preaching on fornication for a season and it’s not for you that doesn’t mean the church is not for you. The word for your season will come.

By the way one of the main reasons we have to keep going to church after being fed with the constant word that brings remembrance, is to FELLOWSHIP.

Hebrews 10:25, 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

That was just by the way.

Get Thee Behind Me!

We all know that scripture when Jesus told Peter…

Matthew  16:23, But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

I once had an encounter, (you can call it a vision, trans or whatever) and a lady was talking to me, I knew she was of the heavens and angelic. We were discussing on a few things and as soon as she was about to leave another spirit tried to enter in that same split second and corrupt that which she had revealed unto me. I prayed and rebuked it and it left.

Then the other day when I heard this scripture being used to preach, I remembered that experience.

If you notice earlier in the Chapter less than some verses prior, Jesus was praising Peter and telling him how spiritually inclined he was because what they were talking  about only God could have revealed it to Peter.

Matthew 16:16-17, Simon Peter answered, “You are [a]the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon [b]Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

Jesus knew that in that same second of when the Holy Spirit came upon Peter to reveal that Jesus was the son of God, the same moment the devil also attempted use Peter to discourage and bring fear.

There are times when you want to do something or are lead to do something and all of a sudden you get that anxiety feeling that doesn’t shift, the devil is trying to replace the presence of Holy Spirit.

When you sometimes get those thoughts that tries to tell you, you can’t do it, you will fail or you are not god enough. YOU HAVE TO REBUKE IT LIKE JESUS DID.

Especially when I am somewhere I can speak out, I usually shout in tongues and also shout very loudly, “GET THEE BEHIND ME FOUL SPIRIT” and I also tell it, “YOU CANT CONTROL ME I BELONG TO JESUS, I WONT BE AFRAID”. I immediately feel better, and if I can’t shout, I speak in tongues in my head and whisper instead till I shake it off.

By inviting the presence of the Holy Spirit and the devil will flee, it can also be through worship.

1 Samuel 16:23, And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.

Sometimes it could be a relative or friend that brings a word of discouragement, don’t be offended it’s the devil using them to say and put thoughts into your head.

Let us be spirit aware and conscious, no one is above being used by the devil, it takes a split second. MAY WE NOT BE INSTRUMENTS OF THE DEVIL, but instruments of God.

Acts 9:15, But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel

There is someone out there who keeps hearing negative taughts about themselves. Don’t let the devil have a hold on you with that whispering voice. You must REBUKE HIM and he will FLEE.

Don’t let him remind you of your past, to make you feel inadequate.

Receive strength and boldness. You are of Christ, a royal priesthood, so the devil has no hold over you.
As you go about your week, may God lead you in the path of righteousness.
