Are you struggling to pray? You are not alone, there are millions of women out there, single, married, and mothers struggling to pray.
Let’s do something about it.
Why we should pray?
1.) Prayer gives you authority. Matthew 7:28,29. And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
2.) Prayer is a form of faith exercised. Matthew 21:22, And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.
3.) Prayer yields results. Isaiah 66:8, Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.
4.) Prayer will draw you closer to God. James 4:8, Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
5.) Prayer is our spiritual warfare. 2 Corinthians 10:4, For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.
3.) Prayer gives you power. Ephesians 6:18, Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.
Things you can do…
1.) Find someone you can pray with. Agree with one or some friends, do a group call, Skype.
2.) Set a prayer time. I have an alarm on my phone that goes off every 3 hours to prompt me to pray even if it’s just for 2 mins.
3.) List down topics to encourage you to pray. Most of the time I just pray to thank Him for his goodness, mercy and grace, for His will to be done in my life.
4.) Doing your quiet time will enable you to pray.
5.) If you don’t know how to start, use the Lords prayer. Matthew 6:10
6.) Listen to messages to enable you to pray for long hours, for example use the length of the message as a timer.
7.) Speak in tongues if you can. It helps to pray for long, Romans 8:26, Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be utte.
Be blessed as you pray…
